mr happy

Long time since i posted anything, thought i'd put some up anyway since aarthi seems to be reading this XD
starting off with the sky, taken from alex parent's house, love my cam for its auto adjust function, bringing out the colours much better for this picture.

a picture taken from the garden, i just thought it looked nice :)

MY PURPLE SOCKS! its actually a darker purple , a shade i like very much... the flash just messes up the colour >_> made them myself under mary's guidance!

MY VERY FIRST SNOWMAN, MR HAPPY! who looks very evil with the flash, but i like him alot because he's got the cutest smirk on his face.

mr happy!

dum dee dum

too lazy to add pics again, but i got some pretty ok shots of the night scenary..

STILL NO BLOODY SNOW...

we're leaving for Hustad (alex's parents' area) tomorrow by boat then car, its gonna be more than a 4 hour journey, mostly by boat though. i hope it wont be too rocky. at least i got a good beefy burger to look forward to when i get on the boat.

alex FORCED(wellnotreallybutkkthx) me to learn Magic properly today. no, not the kind with a magic wand unfortunately, or snape-dress-up-and-potions, but Magic the Gathering cards. ooohhh damn he's turning me geeky. it shall suffice to say i won the first two rounds. *nod*

we also went to watch a movie today in 3D, Journey to the Center of the Earth, which was really good ^^ stars the guy who starred in The Mummy, and was pretty cool in overall. the seats in movie theatres in norway can recline slightly, making it more comfortable to watch a movie. and they got yummy BACON (ark, are you reading this?) snack thingers. its like chips made of bacon. i keep forgetting to get a pic of those... but the popcorn i still dont find it that appealing, since it doesnt seem that 'fresh'...

oh and alex helped me edit this picture i took at mom's workplace back in singapore, a mini orchid with an even mini-er ( i felt like using it, dont judge) grasshopper on it. i really like it alot, and i'll post up the edited photo soon. ;)

well, got a lot of packing to do... and cleaning up i think. mainly dishes, then gotta fold the laundry which should be dry by now... clean up the place abit, empty the fridge of food... and most importantly, dinner to eat!
pasta!

YAY!

Cloud info

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polar_stratospheric_cloud
abit more information o
n the clouds i saw earlier today, apparently they are a rare sight! :D

updates!

Yesterday we went out to walk abit, and outside was this really beautiful sky, with a patch of rainbow clouds which looks better in real than on the pictures... i havent gotten the chance to edit the pics yet, perhaps later.. alex likens them to an oil spill, not the icky black kind i assume XD

this pic shows a more distinct patch of rainbow, although the green area is abit harder to see n the picthis was taken a few minutes later while crossing the bridge, and although the rainbow colours are fading, the sky still looked really pretty :)

I ATE INDIAN FOOD IN NORWAY! and ohhhh damn it was SO good. except that indian food here is pretty expensive. i ate Rogan Josh, a muttons dish, while alex ate beef. BEEF in an INDIAN restaurant with HINDU decorations. ( *puts on nerd face* Illustrations of the Ramayana i believe, and some of Krishna ) Well my Rogan Josh is the dish in the pot... they served it with rice and yoghurt thing, which is DAMN NICE. the rice alone was delicious, abit like nasi lemak rice, but its the BEST i've ever eaten i swear XD the lamb was so juicyily soft and tender, and the spice was just right, except that it had ginger in it. But overall it was a really mouthwatering dish. Oh and we had very nice tasting naan bread to go along with it too, but i didnt take a pic of that. Simen introduced us to the place, as the other indian restaurant (it has a bicycle in it har har har ) near his house charged twice the price of an already expensive meal XD

Lastly, i found this in an asian store... funny, i dont recall seeing those in Singapore XD but still, pretty interesting to see products of Singapore in a country so far away
Its been pretty WARM the last 2-3 days, with the temperature being 5 degrees and above, reaching up to 7 degrees today. Its abit sad, cuz you dont get snow in this heat. *sarcastic btw*
it rained a day ago too, and that kinda melted off most of the snow on the ground, which makes it really slippery to walk on as you get hard slippery patches of ice on uneven ground. Still no snow after 6 days of being here, hope there's snow soon. Last i heard , they had snow at alex's parent's area. and we should be going there on saturday :) CANT WAIT FOR POTATOBALLZZZ YEESSSS
thats it, going out again to buy stuff for alex's mom ( she wants some red curtains) and other stuff...

FINALLY SOME PICS!

first up, you have my farewell troupe, which would have been a drama freaks reunion but benben didnt turn up the last moment... oh well... it was fun enough having most of us around, especially ash since i havent seen her in really really long till recently. hmmm. not since junior college ended at least XD
my coat, which still has a shit job on the buttons which has almost fallen out by now and which i'll have to fix soon... but still a cool looking coat.

this was taken while me, alex and joco went out for MIEN TRUNG BUFFET, coffee and then a movie. these scarves were all knitted by me you see X) gotta find more victims to make scarves for eventually, i love knitting. we went to watch 'the day the earth stood still'. Asking me, its one annoying movie due to some metal screeching sounds made by thinger in the movie ... i turned at one point in the movie to look at the two guys i was watching the movie with, and was pretty amused to see all three of us in the same positions looking equally bored with the movie. XD

I MADE KONYAKU jelly! its grape flavoured so, and i added in fruit to some... this makes about 18 pieces of biggish jelly, and 8 smaller pieces... as shown below, my dead fish jelly!

alex enjoys them, especially the dead fish ones ( more because they're bite sized i believe ). i'm hoping to force feed people i know with them, let em try my 'hard work'. whichisnotpoisonednonos.

WII FIT!

Alex has a wii fit, and darn its fun to play XD my very first wii fit age was 34, which i felt was unjustified cuz i didnt know what to do. the second time i took it was 26, a better improvement but still a far cry.

today i took the body test again and i got 20! YAY! my bmi is 22.76, up from 22.34 earlier in the day when i played ( i ate a heavy mexican meal, it was goooood). oh, and i do the utmost justice to wii fit, drinking coke as i play. and abit of chips.

anyway, i am pretty hooked on it, its fun XD especially the yoga and balance tests... i got 100% on some even *gloat* and iæm having fun breaking alex's and joco's records *gloats some more*

ok i'm done gloating now XD back to wii fit!

Le Flight

Lets start with getting on the plane. i got through the gate as it was flashing 'last call' on the screen. And for once i didnt have to sit down and wait before boarding the plane, i just went straight in. And nice enough, i didnt have trouble stowing my handluggage since i had a whole container for myself.

Next to me was a middle aged Italian man, who i tried to talk to for abit but it was hard because his english wasnt very strong, and it was a little hard to communicate. well i found out he was in indonesia for 5 months to work on some dry dock. yeah. I got the seat very near the galley too, so i had refreshements nearby whenever i so desired it. Which included chocolate covered cookies, mars bars, lollipops and some biscuits. And beverages of course. Good thing i discovered that, because i drank LOADS of water on the plane. it was so dry and my throat and mouth felt crappy. which resulted in me going to the toilet alot too.

they updated the movies on klm, so i had pretty nice movise like the mummy 3, harry potter 5, the incredible hulk, wall.e, get smart and the dark night amongst other pretty recent movies. harry potter 5 was labelled a 'classic'... strange XD i watched the first two movies i mentioned up there, i have a habit of re-watching stuff... but the mummy 3 i watched for the first time on the plane. managed to sleep about 4-5 hours perhaps, and it was pretty comfortable for me this time. the plane food didnt suck, i still say, as i had fish with rice, and fruits... the stupid stewardess took away my tray before i finished my yoghurt though. i think thats the bad part of sitting behind, i get less time to enjoy my food before they snatch it away thinking i want it cleaned up. dont know if its me or them, but i felt the service on the plane this time wasnt as good.

The wait in amsterdam passed pretty alright i guess... took a slow walk to where i was supposed to be, got online for half an hour, read abit, ate my chips, read some more, played psp for a very short while and the wait was over.

OH

i got 'molested' at the security area though >_> i beeped at the metal detector, which i find weird cuz it didnt beep at changi airport. and instead of a hand-held metal detector, i had to stand with my arms and legs apart and have this woman grope all over to search for stuff. =.=

The plane was actually pretty empty for the flight from amsterdam to norway, but i didnt notice that till 40 mins before the plane touched down... and by then i had already befriended a german guy next to me. i was actually hoping for a norwegian so i could be sure where to get from the bus etc etc. I knew his was german cuz i was peeking at the book he read and saw a few german words here and there. ANYWAY, turns out we were in similar situations XD his sister is on exchange in norway, and he was visiting her for her birthday, which i thought was quite nice. Thing is, like alex, his sister was having an exam that day, and so the two of us were given picture and instructions how to get whre we were supposed to be.

Luckily for me, i at least had experience with the place and roughly know where to get off... not that that secured me much XD but at least i had nice company on the bus, and having someone who was a little more lost than i was helped whahha. Oh his name is Fabian, which i very nicely pronounced the English way, and discovered it was a female name in french if pronounced so. Its meant to be pronounced as (do, re, mi ) fa-bee-ann, while i went fay-bee-en. Learn something new everyday.

Oh he asked me to speak chinese too, i refuse. NEVAHHH. And he asked a pretty amusing question. He asked if asian people think all european people looked the same. And i said no, there's some difference. ( if you ask me, i'll say the nose shape first. then how they speak) Thats when he said most europeans think all asians look the same. I agreed, if it was just for jap, chinese and korean people and such, but not if you add in indians, malays etc XD

The bus ride was pretty ok, and i was saying how in summer the whole place is green, whereas now the whole place is white, ahd he said just to imagine the white as green. har har har XD well, i got off on the right stop at least, but i had trouble with my 25 kg main luggage XD. AND IT WAS BLOCKED BY 3 OTHER HEAVY BAGS. THE BIG ONES. I managed to push two of them aside with my bodyweight mainly, but the 3rd (which is fabian's btw >_>) i couldnt budge. Thankfully, the bus driver came down and asked if i needed help,. which resulted in me smashing my head pretty loudly on the side panel of the bus. ( i put my luggage in the side compartment of the bus, which is accessible only after you get down ) and ohhh damn. it really hurt. the driver was pretty worried, and he could only speak norwegian but i was pretty much alive XD he was nice and helped me get my bag out, and i started walking home.

not a very far walk , and surprisingly not THAT cold. ( unlike today, when it was -9 in the morning >_>) i had to lug my 25 kg luggage bag up the stairs though, damn i had forgot about that bit. ANYWAY, got in the house which was VERY warm, alex had set it for 24 degrees knowing i'd need the warmth XD. He left me stuff to get warm , thankfully. Blanket, thick socks, inner glove, chocolate XD.. butwhat i liked best in that mini pile was this uber COOL heart. it had gel like stuff in there, and a bronze coloured coin. Alex left me a note saying to .. eh.. i cant remember the exact words, but i figured i'd bend the coin. '

it gave this really audible SNAP as it bent, and suddenly it clouded the clear red gel, and grew REALLY warm. it turned out to be some hand warmer thing i suppose, which i really reallly like and find DAMN useful since i have icehands. so yeah i was pretty happy XD

didnt take long for alex to come home at least :)

so now its morning, well, nearing afternoon i suppose, and the temperature has climbed to -5... dont think it'll go above zero today. At least it makes the place look darn nice, with all the snow on the ground. i'm too lazy to upload any pics at the moment, but i'll do it soon. and i think i'll go down to take a few pics...

alrighty, just saying i'm alive and well! i got time to blog cuz alex is off for another exam today, his last one... so i'm tidying up the place abit... washing clothes, and clearing up all my stuff on the floor which i sprawled all over yesterday.. havent even opened my hand luggage yet XD i probably should get round to doing the dishes i guess.. tata!

mine burfdae prezentz.

The following pics are the gifts i got from alex and his mom for my birthday... ordered online at http://www.rdfashion.com/main/Default.asp , which is a thai website. However, they have pretty fast production and delivery time, and the quality feels really good! i love my dresses cuz they just feel so darn comfortable X)

it has sizes up to 5XL, and they're really cheap too! so go take a look, females who visit my blog!
First up, a simple dress but the details arent shown here.. there's some ruffle thing at the waist which is abit too loose for my liking. the chest back area is much too loose T_T gotta get that altered i guess... there's a layer of lace over the dress, but that cant be seen here.

another type of lace on this dress, which has a cool concept because its two seperate bits joined together... one short dress and the long lace thing.

THIS ONE FEELS SOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOD. BOTH inside AND out. X) its really nice to wear, and thankfully isnt too clingy. and i love purple.
This pic doesn not do the dress justice i think. the purple looks so light due to the flash.. and the orginal colour was black. the material here feels so silkish and comfortable.. X) damn i love my dresses X)

okay, thats about it ... i need a nap.

muchas gracias to alex for the dresses <3

Silver Wedding

yesterday was the party for mary and robert's 25th anniversary~ they held it at some rentable 'house' for the party... a place with a kitchen and a big open space for you to place tables and chairs. mary wore her wedding dress, and had a hairstylist come over to do her hair, as well as mine and robert's... fortunately for me, it was nothing too fancy, just stuffing a flower into it and tons of hairpins and hairspray enough to make my hair feel plastic. so the result ...

the dress was bought by mary when she was in grand canaria and the necklace by alex when he was in singapore. the makeup isnt present in the above pic... just those below... and as usual, i simply refuse to use anything on my lips except some lip balm thing. so basically powder, eyeshadow, eyeliner and blusher which i really like because it looks so natural. not too pink/red/orange.
kevin, alex's cousin, took these pics for us XD this was taken before the crowd came into the hall... agh... so feminine..................................
a pic of mary and robert... being the gf of their son, i get a place right in front too. which is really convenient because of the space behind me, and because the food servings start very near me X) we had -BEEF- chunks in brown sauce, with potatoes and carrots and mashed peas... it was very good actually... and ricecream for dessert.
alot of funny stuff happend during the party, but my cam died and i forgot to bring my spare battery (which i'm still abit sore about). part of the fun included random people being brought out and made to sing as a choir after half an hour's worth of rehearsal, wearing funny hats XD there was also a quiz game which was quite fun, although half the questions there i couldnt answer mainly because its related to Norway... like scrambled up letters of a norwegian location XD...
there was even a thai dance, which i couldnt take a video of due to a flat battery... two thai dances actually. their national dance and something else. the women were from robert's company, and they are good friends with mary so they offered i think. and mary wanted me to learn it beforehand to join them >_> noooooooo neevvaaahhh.

i'll upload more pictures when i get hold of mary's cam. its missing at the moment, i sure hope it gets back here soon and its not stolen... unfortunately, her cam died of battery before mine died :p so its really sucky. even more when their video recorder died =.= sheeesh. all before the fun choir thing happened.

to end off, i'll mention two things about norwegian parties. first; there is always singing. the hosts plan it it seems... they pick a tune and change the lyrics to what they want XD. secondly, gifts are opened mid-way through the party, and recorded down then displayed. i had the job of opening the gifts, while hilde wrote them down. one fun gift included a big bottle filled with 1 kroner coins! XD hahah.... ok, thats it for now

mary's cam

Finally, here are the long awaited pictures from mary's camera! the shots here are either taken by alex or me. At the beach...Still at the beach...
A closer up pic of the fox that we saw and fed....
And the cute lil chicky bird which alex rescued from the back of a large painting inside the house...
And this is the same bird, which we were coaxing out of the glass container... and waited for it to fly off XD isnt it so cute?!

cool shots

Just a short post with a few pictures that are coooooool
First up, look carefully... isnt the sky clear?
oops... where's the river?

Next.... a full moon in the sky....

So why is its reflection a crescent?

This just looked cool XD.

Lastly, close up shots of the slug which is black this time... so clear you can see the detailed texture on its skin....
and a view from above... still very clear.
thats all XD

Tina's Birthday Wishlist

Before i begin, i'd like to start with all the name-calling that have been going on in this house XD basically between alex's dad and me hahahaha... it started with him calling me Tina Tired because i look sleepy half the time. Then i called him Robert Nugatti (brand of the chocolate that he likes to eat with bread). which is my favourite name so far because of how it sounds XD

then we have Tina Clever... Robert Coffee... Tina Hungry... Robert Hungry.. etc XD

and now...

on to the birthday list! XD

1: As always, a ticket to norway. for xmas.
I CAN KEEP WISHING CANT I. THIS IS -MY- WISHLIST!

2: Money is always welcome.
Reasons? i want to go do clothes shopping :p havent really bought much new clothes for the upcoming semester of uni.... and my clothes are starting to fade in colour. And i wanna go shoe shopping XD Secondly, i'm hoping for a tina schoolbook fund to get essential reading materials, because i intend to be an uber geek. Alex is contributing some psychology books... I dont like borrowing library books because i cant scribble or highlight in them, which i like to do alot because its part of my learning style. Anyway, money gifties will be sorted out according to the reason they are given for... like "oh this is for your clothes". yeah. gotta be organized y'know

3: Clothes
To save me the trouble of shopping! HOWEVER, this is a very risky option unless you know my size and style very well, because i promise strangulation to anyone (well, if i can...) who buys me anything pink. so unless its a casual t shirt to wear at home which i like very much. but even then, i seriously prefer if i dont get anything pink. ( to date, i only have two in use. one was bought by mama and it has cute lil koala bears, and the other was bought by me cuz I LOVE BUTTERFLIES. ) so anyway, for those who REALLY REALLY , HARDCORE want to buy me clothes, let it be in purple or black. and the shade of purple is also very specific. it has to be a very similar shade to that of my blog, or in the cupboard it stays. so far, i dont have that problem with purple clothes.... (only alex's mom been buying me that last time i think )think grape purple, not icky brownish purple. in short, because i am very picky and rather people not waste cash, its easier to just let me pick XD.

4: Money for a new wallet
i am superbly undeniably extensively horrendously extremely picky on this. i rather no one buy me one, since i rather choose this myself. so unless you think you've found the perfect wallet....

5: Stuff you think i need for uni life
Like... a really cool diary. preferably something black or purple with butterflies, that dont look like it belongs to a disney princess. An organizer is something i need since primary school days since i have horribly bad memory when it comes to doing homework. In JC, its actually pretty useful. Money for stationary...i just thought of those. or just get me some decent stationary... but still i like to pick those myself, down to the pencil case and type of pens i use.

i am so damn picky. XD

6: Carebears X)
but i already have a small collection... so you might buy the wrong type/same as i have. again, picky picky.

7: SURPRISE ME
cant think of much else actually... not too much that i want. Its almost more of neccessities...kind of. so if people think of special stuff for me, ITS AN ADDED BONUS! wooohooo~! and if i like it i'd be very appreciative of it. yup.

I dont need electrical doodads i think. i got a laptop which i'm more than happy with... i got two mp3s that are great to use... i got a camera which is still new and very handy.... i got a psp slim and i hardly play with that.. .... .... how about better internet connection. yeah that would be great. or rather, a stronger antenna for my pc at home.. or better still internet connection for my laptop at home.. yeah, that would be perfect.

and that concludes my extremely picky post XD

le island house

This is the old old house of the Gaustadneses. The roof with all the grass on it is an extension of the original house. This house contains some relics like a boat from a ship that was in danger of shipwreck, and it looks darn cool because its built to move with the motions of a rocky trip. And there are some old tools and stuff, and some pictures of the island thats still in black and white. There used to be a small little fishing community on the island somewhat, with 3 other houses and a dock. However, all thats left of the dock is the piles of rocks where me and alex were in the picture in the previous post.

If you look closely at the distance from the first and second floor, you can imagine that the second floor is lower than the first. And in the pic below... go gauge XD.

Its almost like a cute cosy lil dollhouse! the windows on the second floor are on the floor btw. i got alex to take this pic just to show the height of things XD This is the sight when i opened the door.. door to the left leads to more rooms... stairs tothe right leads upstairs to the two bedrooms. one more door to the right leads to the bathroom undergoing construction. they use gas for cooking in this house.. back on the main island, people use electric stoves.
This is the extention of the house... a cosy living room (more to the left of the pic) with a fireplace. they built this themselves. the extention, the fireplace, and even the cabinet over there. The steps you see lead to a seperated second floor, like a seperate living room... an idea which i like very much.
lastly, i just had to take a picture of the beds! ARENT THEY SO CUTE?! its like some childhood dream come true XD pity that there's a few bugs here and there because the house is mainly used in summer. This bed room also comes with a miniature door to peek out to the living room below XD

So that concludes the tour of the island house... dont want to add too many pictures. I made a video anyway.. the island comes with a little "Wading pool" where generations of Gaustadnes kids have played in. Which is where i saw the mink and picked some pretty shells.....which i left at the island =.= DOH.

trip to island house

i took some pics while we were at the small dock, getting ready to leave to the island house. there was alot of jellyfish by the doc, i counted about 4 (the dock is very small ) lion's mane jellyfish. those are the stingables, which can cause some pain and rash when stung, but usually not fatal. when they open up, they are flower shaped, which looks kinda cool as you can see below.this is as close as i could get... it looks abit like and eyeball here cuz of the veins and stuff... their threads hang down, and the longest i've seen is about a meter. thank goodness i wasnt in the water XD
shortly after we got to the island, we saw a family of minks. i never saw a mink before i think? they look a little bit like black otters when they are swimming in the water, and they have a very very shiny pelt. they look very cute too, and have beady blackish-grey eyes... cant describe the sound the make though... abit like a rasp. anyway, one got really close to me since they're considered shy creatures. it was a young one that was curious i guess. so alex got a couple of nice shots then
a closer up pic of the cute lil mink. btw, they were imported from North America for their pelt, but some got loose and now people are grumpy because minks kill birds in Norway. and they ruin the island house a lil bit.. pee and stuff. but consider what happens to them >_>
lastly, for this post, i end with a cool picture of a rock. you can see many layers and i found it interesting. i'll blog up some pics of the house later... kinda dont want to be at the com now since i have a headache. tata!

walk

First up, a couple of couple pics that kas kas requ... demanded. poses are kinda limited due to a lack of people to take pics for us. but dont worry, alot will appear when i give mary the cam XDthese were taken during our walk by the river again, this time at a high tide.
pretty flowers by the river...
and i found a cow with a heart on its forehead XD cute huh!
by attracting one curious cow, the whole damn herd came over. >_> it made a cute pic at least XD but oooo the beef the beef... *drool*
ok, i'm rushing this entry ( compensating with pictures instead) because the weather is warm enough and still enough to go to the island house! I'VE BEEN WANTING TO GO SINCE DECEMBER LAST YEAR. there will be no electricity there, but i'll bring my cam and take lots of pics, and make a long entry when i get back. okay peeps, ciao!

bunch of naggers >_>

i was nagged for a new post. so here we are!
i've been abit lazy to take pictures lately, or rather, the weather's been abit cold rainy and windy to go out and enjoy =.= and sometimes when we go out i forget to bring my camera XD so anyway, these are shots taken when the weather was much better.

first up, a kinda cool looking slug i saw in the garden... and its quite big too XD abit icky but at least i didnt step on it. in the forest, i saw black slugs and those were ickier... because their shape isnt...normal. they kinda alter their own shape to look like a black blob splat. i didnt take a picture of that though, too icky XD

next, the mountain across the lil bit of ocean... it looked quite serene so i took a pic..

this pic was taken for 2 reasons. to show that norwegian kids are made of tougher stuff... cuz the water is really REALLY cold, and to show how clear it is.. thats kelp and stuff you se.. then its all white nice sand X) really beautiful

lastly, by the beach we went to.. this pile of stones is actually a viking burial site. and we stomped all over to get to the road :P but the bodies have been excavated alex believes, so i dont think we were being disrespectful, unless some lone viking was left under there.

two days ago, the weather was really bad~ it was so windy that chairs can get dragged across the balcony, and all the trees dance in the wind. i took a video of it actually. alex went out to take stuff indoors, and his hair was blown back so much it looked nearly horizontal at times XD and the ocean, geez, it looked so... ferocious. not the kind of weather i want to be in a boat in XD

lastly, alex suggested that we could go blueshell.. or some sorta mussel picking. it sounds like fun (and yummy XD ) and i'm hoping the weather will turn good again so we can go to the island house AND pick mussels. even though the sun is shining brightly out now, the wind can still be very cold.

when alex transfers pics he took,i'll upload them. there are some nicer pictures there too :)
