Yesterday, we spent a couple of hours at work, and then travelled 3 hours to a city called Alesund where alex's mom needed a quick medical checkup. the trip wasnt so bad... about 45 mins to Molde (city nearby where alex's bro + gf stays) from where we stay, then a 40 ish minute ferry ride, include some waiting time for the ferry, and about an hour's drive to our destination.
Alex's dad dropped us off at the Aquarium there, which is more or less a norwegian version of singapore's underwater world, but more natural i think. it was really interesting, finally i'm getting to visit tourist attractions XD it was big inside, dark, mainly black or dark coloured walls....
there was a petting pool as well, but much deeper... and the only thing you could pet in there ( mackeral wouldnt swim up to you XD ) was the stingrays... which were really rough, and had their stingers cut off. they were interesting though, since they keep poking their nose out of water alot.
A few preserved deep sea fishes were on display, as i will show a pic of later. ICCCKKYYY. there was also a display of beautiful shells, alot of which i found recognizable since i have quite a few of them myself XD i guess since i come from a different beach, its more exotic for them. but they had such beautiful large shells, i wanted to take one home.....
unlike underwater world, they didnt have that tunnel thing. instead, they had big tanks in the walls, with fresh seawater in it. problem is, since it is fresh seawater, it was not as crystal clear as tis' the season for algae. but it looks nicer that way, more natural. they did have smaller tanks displaying specific sea creatures though, which was cleaner and brighter.
after that, we travelled through the mountains, up to 700m above sea level, and drove by snow. XD snow in summer... 8 degrees on the mountain. but it was really beautiful, the road we drove down was very scenic, passing by many small waterfalls, rapids and rivers , as well as very tall waterfall, stretching over a couple hundred meters down.
i took pictures of those with my other cam, lazy to get it now XD
we also drove past this REALLY gorgeous waterfall that was powerful, blue and quite a beauty. they had a suspended walk above the water fall and .. uh.. hmm. the thinger that it flows through. it cut so nicely in to the rocks, and you can see the layers of rock even hehe.
the pic below shows the layers :D (check how icy cold blue the water is!!)
waterfall falls in to this smallish pool...
the suspended walk... ( see alex? XD)
and now, pics from the aquarium visit...

preserved freaky fish!! they also had a few angler fishes... freaky.
now, its time for the Faces of FISH!

it was a LONG trip back, since we travelled through the mountains... think we easily spent 5 hours travelling back? we stopped alot to take pics and stuff though ehehe... had fun :)
