i forgot to mention the cutest story of my trip. dooohhhh.
ahem.
before i left, i went luggage bag shopping with my mom and alex. Giant had some really good offers, and i initially found a nice bright green luggage set, 3 sets for less than 40 bucks i think. unfortunately for me, a better deal was found.
and what a deal it turned out to be.
because
its
broken.
as in, i have no handles on either bag. and the thing you use to pull the bag with is gone too. JOY! i wonder how i'm gonna get home =.= i KNEW i should have brought a big bag to carry my laptop in seperately. now it seems i'm gonna have problems with bags and handluggage bag =.=
i refuse to buy important goods made from a certain country now =.=

Procrastinated pics
here are the pics which i said i would eventually put up. i bet most find it better anyway, than boring old text.
first of all, ze mackeral which i caught, the first fish i ever caught from the ocean! YAY
these are the yummies that we all caught. 3 of them ( and the biggest *gloat*) were caught by meeeeeeee
the river near the beach, its quite still so you can very clearly see the reflection of rocks and grass in the water, and the extremely clear sky
this is how 'far' out we can walk into the sandy waters of the beach, during a high tide. i walked back to shore to get a pic of alex there XD
this giant strawberry was grown in mary's garden, and happily eaten by me
and this mini wild strawberry is also grown in mary's garden, and also eaten by me. reminds me of strawberry gege. strawberries and vanilla ice cream was soooooo gooooooooood...... mary and me went berry picking in her garden, and i washed and sliced strawberries to eat with icecream. *drooling at memory*
lastly, this is a pic of my chicken rice attempt. it tastes good, i will still insist so

beach experience
a day ago, we went to the beach nearby... and it was beautiful. soft white sand, and pretty clear water . can see up to 5m depth i think, although we didnt go that far. i compare it with the water where we snorkled. it was my first time at a norwegian beach, and it was COLD. at least, the water. BUT...
kids swim in it.
XD it took awhile for my feet to get used to the cold, but after that it was really nice and actually comfortable. we saw quite a few crabs in the water, one of them agressive for some reason, but didnt attack. one surprise was flounders. teeny weeny fishies which camouflage perfectly in the sand, and usually dont detect feet fast enough to zoom off. therefore we spent some time stepping on flounders accidently.
some even swam UNDER our feet XD. nothing dangerous, but highly ticklish XD. so throughout our walks , it was punctuated with "woohooohoooooo" "gawaaaaa" etc XD
big momma's house 2 is on tv now, so i'll poof off!

3-in-1
today we went fishing in the ocean, about a 5-10 minute boat ride from the shore. me, alex and his father went out, in hopes of catching our dinner. it was a very nice ride, and i saw a lot of jellyfish on our way out to the ocean. there were two types in general. one with 4 pink circles on its back, which doesnt sting much... and the lil blobs with long stingers that will sting a lot. XD it was nice, windy, and no clouds in the sky.. so it was a lovely day for fishing
when we stopped the boat, robert cut up some old icky fish to use as bait... we each had a roll of line with 4 hooks on. i chose to just bait one hook though. and within a minute of having my line reach the ocean floor.... i had a bite XD and every time i threw in my line after that XD. of course, it takes time to reel in the fish (and arm muscle too T_T ) and thankfully i didnt have to unhook it. because the fish weighed about 3 kilos... and they were bloody :P
the first fishie i caught was a mackeral, but it wasnt the type we wanted for dinner so it was thrown back in. i caught 3 other fishes after that, all of the same breed, and the type we want for dinner. i believe its dory fish? muahahaahah. i felt so good having caught fish so easily, but didnt feel so good when i started to feel seasick due to the rocking boat. even now as i type this, 6 hours or more after getting off the boat, i still feel abit sickish...feeling the rocking movement. robert caught 2 fishes, and alex caught one. thankfully, all the fish we caught were pretty big, and i caught the biggest *self cheer*
after fishing, we went to eat lunch with alex's grandparents. gave them the stuff we bought in singapore for them.. and they were very pleased :)
finally, we went snorkling with raymond and hilde, alex's brother and his gf. it was VERY hard to get into a wetsuit , and even harder to breathe in one. lets just say its like a full body corset, but protects very well from the cold water. saw fishies and a white starfish... alex picked up a white and purple sea urchin, which was really very cool. but i'll blab in detail some other time , bbq fish is AWAITING!

nature!
reached alex's parents house safe and sound... will add pictures soon *procrastinating*
we had a bbq dinner, and 3 of us got to feed a wild fox. a small cute lil thing which quickly snatched the food from our hands and went off to eat it... then after awhile, tobias the cat appeared, and went stalking the fox for quite awhile. XD the fox actually came up to me and alex while we were crouching in the grass.. definately less than a meter away and we didnt have food to lure it with even XD so it was kinda cool.
the fun doesnt end in the morning, when alex heard noises behind the painting at the stairs. i thought it was a rat , since i heard clawing noises XD so he took a glass bowl, hoping to get it out... but it turned out to be....
a bird.
a cute lil chicky bird XD and i think it was too tired to fly out of the bowl even. so we brought it out, hoping to let it free. i chucked tobias into the house so it wouldnt kill the chicky bird. and after some attempts to safely get the bird out of the bowl, it stayed in alex's hand for awhile so i got a picture of that :D i didnt get to touch it though, because it flew off shortly after. but i'm glad it went free
lastly, i ate a wild strawberry growing in the garden. they are much much MUCH smaller than a normal strawberry (which, is also growing in the garden XD). there's also lettuce... peas... and more stuff growing thats edible.
and now, i'm going to test out our new guns for the wii! tata!

chicken pok pok rice
*Too lazy to even transfer the pictures from the camera to the com, much less upload them*
my latest attempt at cooking was CHICKEN RICE! went to google some recipes, and tweaked them abit. first of all, for just two people, i didnt want to buy a whole damned chicken. XD next, we dont have a big chopping board nor a huge knife to cut whole chickens. the pot we have isnt exactly huuuge either.
the rice is what makes chicken rice.. well.. chicken rice. ideally, i'm supposed to use the water/soup i get from boiling the chicken over a period of 45 minutes or so... ( according to instructions, boil for 2-3 minutes, then off the fire and close the lid for 20 mins. then repeat process) however, i just finished it in 20 minutes. hunger has no patience.
so what i did, was just boil a pot of water and threw in a lump of chicken stock XD and it works VERY well, i'm glad to say. meantime, alex fried the raw rice in the rice cooker with some oil and garlic, before we added in the chicken stock water with salt and seaseme oil, and let it cook. it turned out pretty good, despite forgetting the ginger XD chicken was easy enough, just throw some seaseme oil and light soya sauce hehe
i will upload a picture of the meal soon... tomorrow we head out to alex's parents :D
ps: cousin, i dreamt i missed your birthday dinner hahahaha.
