little updates

update 1: photography

i wonder now how much it'll take to be a real nature photographer, when i was climbing over slipper rocks to get nearer to the rolling waves in the stormy winter sea. i -HAD- to get closer cuz i wanted to take nice pics of the waves, especially when it curls XD you just dont see that in singapore.

to top it off, it started to hail X) ahh. hail isnt that bad actually, as long as you dont imagine the classic comic-book bowling ball sized hail stones. personally, i think its better than snow since it doesnt melt as fast (hence you can brush it off after walking to where you want instead of getting your jacket wet) and it looks like those mini ice cream thing they sell in vending machines in some malls XD. cant remember what its called, but i had it with kas once at tampines mall, i think.

pictures are yet again taken in RAW, so i'll probably only handle that when i'm back in singapore.

side note: i'm sick of people asking me when i return. shoo.

Update 2: the pukey cat

little adventure today, since the cat was out a full 24 hours, spending most of that time hiding under a fence, in a hole. (there's knee deep snow piled up now) we tried calling her, she'd come out and meow pitifully cuz she apparently couldnt jump back up to our side. We tried puting a plank so she could climb up, but she didnt even approach it. I even went to ring all the damn doorbells in the neighbouring property but NO ONE WAS HOME?!

so finally, i had to yet AGAIN climb the garage roof X). and its filled with snow X). my frozen butt.

and i had to coax her out ,spending quite some time just by that hole... finally she came out long enough for me to grab her and toss her over the fence to alex. only then she became calmer.. i got a scratch in the process, but when i went into the house and shoved my hand under her nose going "you see? huh ? h.." and she starts licking my hand... awww, ok , its not her fault anymore.

she was quite unstable though, dashed for her food ( i had just watched a tv show where a cat got shipped from america to france in a container, spending almost a month without food.. and my cat cant even survive one day without freaking out) and puked it out promptly a few minutes later.

i had to admire alex for catching the puke with his hand.

and she puked again later on the bedroom rug.........

but now she's okay, sleeping loads more. very happy to get cuddled ^^

ah, i do love this cat. she's so cute, especially at night when i snuggle into bed and she'll jump up, and climb on top of me and lie down there for awhile to get some pets... and after that she'd spend the night sleeping on the left side of the bed, shifting from the head of the bed to the foot at times.

dragon hoard

From Mary, a knitted beanie that alex says suits me XD can stuff all my hair into it if i wanna, and its nice and warm :)
then she actually made me a dress O_o Its a bit small ( in terms of the crocheted part's length) i think, or its meant to be that way, i dont know. But in any case, i might add a belt to this dress next time XD pouffy sleeves! also got an inner slip to wear with this, as well as a giant heart necklace to match the dress.

she also knitted me a cardigan i really really liked XD she showed it to me last xmas, a version she had knitted for herself. She bought me the yarn for it this summer, but i never got round to making it. i tried, but my knitting gauge was WAAAYYY too big =p i'll load up a pic later!

she gave everyone her own grown and dried teas, i got camille, and alex got peppermint :) seems like there's a trend for giving out handmade gifts this xmas, i gave out alot of hand made stuff myself XD.

best yet, was a gift from 'snill svigerfar' (nice father-in-law)...

XD it was hilarious to open it in front of everyone. Hilde got a set too (but she wasnt around to open hers in front of us, she and raymond came later).

From Beate, i got a cool cross pendant, a bunch of pocky (yumyum), a nail care set and a very pretty scarf which i like alot =)
the scarf is half cloth, half lace, so its really soft against the neck X)

from mary's mother, i got a set of candle holders, which i think looks really fancy =D i put it under the light to show off the autumn golden-brown colours of it ^^

this was the first gift of the xmas present opening session, which is mine! got it from Raymond, and i had to quickly shove it out of sight (thank goodness alex was talking to someone else at that moment, he usually gives attention to the people opening gifts XD) cuz alex didnt know he was gonna get a kinect!
and ta-daaaa! said kinect! cutely enough, alex had future plans to get this, and wanted to get me the game above XD

speaking of my babyboo, he bought me a prime nikon lens O_O. now when i opened this i felt sooo SO bad. why? cuz i bought him a mug that looks a hell lot like a real lens. and everyone was going "ohhhhh" at it until alex unscrewed the top to show its a mug XD.

that aside, this is a REALLY good quality lens, and it takes pretty sharp pictures! its meant for landscapes, so i suspect i'll use it more in summer? although tmr i plan to go out and take a walk while its bright, hopefully get a few nice winter mountain landscape and nice skies with my new lens! =) he also got me a UV filter for this lens, which is very useful since it'll let me take pics of nice bright skies and still be able to capture the clouds ^^

this is a scarf i knitted for mary while in singapore, spreading the work out over the semester by watching big bang theory while knitting XD mary likes it alot. actually, it seems that people really liked the gifts from me this year X) makes me feel happy when people are happy hehe

yesterday we went to watch Harry Potter ~! yay! finally! And to top it off, alex got us seats in the new luxury theatre they just built... changing a 120 seater cinema to a 36 seater, with free water and coffee and biscuits XD. very cosy chairs indeed, and little tables on each side. The seats were mostly in pairs.

stopped by the coffee/tea store the previous day, to get alex's parents and grandparents some coffee powder ( which i still think is interesting, since in singapore you mostly get them from wet markets i think?) and a coffee press thing.

this store sells only coffee and tea related stuff, very nice collection of pots and cups XD

Lanterns!

What did i do today?

hmm...

go to a graveyard.

join two grown men smoking e-cigarettes.

and fly pink lanterns.

all at the same time ;D

Joco bought some of those chinese paper lanterns from deal extreme, about $4 for a pair... in pink XD. so we had four lanterns in total, and we went to the middle of the graveyard ( a place where we wouldnt get disturbed/stared at XD) and started lighting up.

we had to just attach a block of fuel to the bottom of the lantern and set it on fire.... and then hold it for a couple of minutes before the lantern was ready to be let free into the sky~!

oh christmas tree ohhh christmas tree...

i bought us a christmas tree! XD i actually got it from Daiso (hence, it was just $2) and hauled it to norway. Decorated it with whatever i could find.. Alex was the one who put the coca cola polar bear i got from Long John Silvers' up on the top, and i quite like it there XD

found some stars we made a year ago or something... didnt have needle and thread, so i made do with a pin and fishing line! threaded the stars.. would have preferred something to put in between but couldnt find anything suitable XD. Then came some candycane i brought over from Singapore aagain, and a hello kitty phone strap that joco gave alex XD

so now the lovely tree is placed by the window, surrounded with an xmas card from alex's mum, and an xmas card from kai! yay! alex took some nicer pics now, but he's gonna have fun with them on photoshop first.

Back once more!

Back once again in norway, and its snowing quite a lot.

flight was alright enough, had two seats to myself on both flights :D the first flight, my 'neighbour' was the english/lit teacher of hwa chong XD. got reminded abit of spencer (white, jc lit teacher).

i opted for low-fat meals this time, as a start to my wish to try out all their special meals on KLM XD. wish i started it sooner though, special meals= you get served first. so i got quite yummy yet healthy food, nice from the usual foods i ate on the plane trips before. Got served some nice fish with white sauce, and chicken breast meat with lots of vegetables. breakfast wasn't too special, just omelette but with more vegetables than others.

got stopped AGAIN by security, but this time in Trondheim. I was the first to get out of the luggage collection area because my bag came out 2nd, and i was all cheering inside....till i got greeted by 4 security guards, one of them blabbing a string of norwegian to me and i went 'huh?'

then he STILL continued in norwegian "snakke du norsk?" (do you speak norwegian?)

me: "nei?" (no?)

anyway, he directed me to a room where they had many metal tables and an xray machine for bags and stuff inside. Luckily for me, he decided to scan through my belongings, unlike one lady who had most of her bag emptied out on the table, AND THEN scanned. He still opened my bag to check though, which i was abit annoyed at.

Then he also took my passport for checking, which again was annoying. Furthermore, he questioned why i was here etc, and i mentioned alex, and he asked for alex's full name -_- (in norway, you can google people and find out where they live and even their numbers). All in all, at least i wasn't delayed too long. Luckily, alex also brought a magazine to read. My flight was already half an hour later than it should have been due to de-icing of the wings.

i slept loads, hence my inactivity online XD

for those with whatsapp, i'm there! and for those with the iphone4, facetime me!! so far i've facetimed with my mom and my bro, which was pretty fun ( i think my mom was enjoying it quite alot, despite her frightened "AIYO" at first seeing my face -___-).

My cat was very misleading, happily meowing and came bounding over when i came home... bounding over towards me...then happily trotting past. >_> she was more eager to get upstairs apparently XD. But she slept on the bed at the foot end most of the night <3>

Alex is making me lovbiff now with bernaise sauce *drools* meantime, reformatted the com, so i gotta get to fixing it up!
