fishing again!

went fishing again today, but at a different location with Are and Dag Remi. We spent more than 2 hours out, but it passes pretty fast when you're fishing. Alex was the only twit getting fishes. Two got away as it reached the surface, and 1 made it to the bucket.

Its small though, so it'll be cat food XD

still waiting for warmer weather so we can take the boat out and get us some BIGGGEERRR fish.
Thats the fish alex caught, as he's slowly getting it out of the water
sacrificial beheading.
thats Are packing the rod...
And this is the Atlantic Bridge, we tried this location later but it wasnt any good since our lures were much too light for the stronger currents in this area.

We fished from the bridge, but not the very top arch seen in the pic

pics from alex's cam :D

100 yards of heaven

finished my latest project, a shawlette! named a hundred yards of heaven due to the little amount of yarn used and how it looks abit like feathers and thus wings, this will be an xmas gift to alex's grandma. gonna make another one in a lighter shade of purple for the other grandma later :)

still crappy weather outside, light drizzle, strong winds, no sun.

i wanna fish :(

on the upside, i have a large stock of potatoball in the fridge, waiting for me to eat it in different ways. there's a new way now i've tried yesterday, where the potatoball is cooked in milk and butter, then served with more butter. its a 'soup' apparently.

yoohoo, kas, milk+butter=soup.

it kinda freaked me for a moment ( THE BLASPHEMY TO POTATOBALLS!). but i tried it, and it wasnt so bad. Alex's mum loves it alot. i'd eat it, but no when there's proper potatoballs to eat!

that said, i'm off to fry some up ( or maybe get alex to do it 8> ) for breakfast

tata!

fishing

went fishing this week, not on the boat though. weather's about 10-13 degrees, and this week is mainly rainy and crappy weather. The first two days of the week were very sunny but cold though.

so the first pic shows the area where we could fish from
view from the glass stand
we didnt get any fish, so we went climbing all around the coast trying to find a good spot

XD

unfortunately, we didnt get any fish, possibly due to the low tide. we went out thinking the tide would come in, but that didnt happen, so oh well.

we'll try again next time

its so cute <3
and finally, my masterpiece i made for my niece. bunny slippers! or some sort of slipper-sock-shoe thing. i've made the slipper for an adult version for myself, but i have to go dig for more wool if i am to make the ears of mine. if not, i'll turn mine into a cat!

walk

me and alex went out for a 2 hour walk through the forest. through branches, thorns, little capillary gaps, small flies, and no proper paths.

i'm the spoilt singaporean who expects a neat path.

but i made it anyway. ironically i prefer climbing around rocks by the river which alex says is actually more dangerous... but at least i can see where i'm stepping clearly and there are NO BUGS.

i say this because a caterpillar fell from my head to my hands.

anyway. on with the pics xD.

The pics here are taken by alex and his new Nikon D3000 (*insert mild jealousy* *but Tina wants a Sony A550*)

i especially like the first picture above. look closely again... those arent snowflakes or raindrops. you're actually looking at a flipped picture of a river reflection!
Thats me having climbed over some rocks... Alex took the wider angled version of it in RAW format, so i have to convert it... shall post it later.
This pic is taken with a slightly prolonged shutter time to get the nice water effects.
aaaand thats the last pic from Alex's cam that i shall post for today! A nice overview of part of the river. well, one more pic from his cam, LILO! XD but it was taken by me
Now its my turn for pics...

once again..

to add to my collection of mating creatures...

Sucker

Before we left Trondheim for Alex's parents' place, Alex called up the pet shelter regarding Sucker.
They were very friendly, and asked us to send a picture of it, which we conveniently had a few of XD

They replied very quickly to the pictures, saying she was a special looking cat and they will look into picking it up as soon as possible.

One day later, they emailed us saying that Sucker was actually a missing pet! The owner recognized her from the pictures we had sent and was very happy to find her again. Sucker's real name is actually Silke( sil-ke). The owner had posted poorly taken and blurry pics of her, so she wasnt very recognizable i guess. Plus she had been missing for a month now (since 15th may according to the owner) and dirtied up alot.

I'm so glad that they're reunited :) although the neighbour upstairs said she was tempted to keep Silke ( before we found out it had an owner XD) despite being allergic.

One more day later, the owner emailed us to thank us for helping to look after her cat. So i guess thats one indication she does care for her cat. me and alex were wondering if it was abandoned... so guess not!

yay for efficient pet shelters!

new miniatures!

been making new types of miniatures! XD the rightmost mitten in the first pic is the mitten on my thumb in the later pic.

also made a miniature knitting bag i'll stuff with details later when i get back to sg. next to it is an xmas sock XD as you can see i'm obviously using the same wool for all... leftovers from my Aeolian Shawl.

lastly its a miniature bear rug! with a skinned featureless rare purple polar bear!

we're leaving for Hustad today, just when it was getting warm here. looking forward to the fishing :D

Sucker

meet Sucker, the stray cat. for a few days in a row, it had been meowing daily for 4 hours straight. it would meow itself to sleep on the garage roof. and it was VERY attention hungry, walking in between human legs if people went to pet it and tried to leave after. the neighbour upstairs fell victim to that. so did I. but at least it didnt follow anyone up the stairs to the apartments.

so thats her on the roof near our window on the 2nd floor, meowing from there.
we tried ways to get rid of her.. waving a mop didnt help (she just stared, knowing it wouldnt reach her. and when it did, she just moved 5cm out of reach). neither did the cat-repellent spray thing (it just smells strongly of chemicals, and cats dont like it. for humans, it smells like cheap air freshener.)

so we decided to feed her. that didnt work, she still meowed.

then we decided to wash her. alex and i both had the idea in our heads, and i voiced it out.

i brought some wet tissue towels down.

he brought a bucket of water.

to summarize,
alex dumped two buckets of water on it in stages. and it came back as long as Alex goes 'psssspsssspsssspsssss' to it. i handled the drying off, and even removed petrified shit from its ass... as well as other random icky stuff that clung to its long ass-fur.

we then decided we could sacrifice a small towel and give it a proper rub off... and it handled it all very well. so it cant be stray at all. i imagine a stray would freak out totally and leave battle scars on our hands.

today, Sucker still hangs around though she no longer tries to set a world record on Longest Meowing Session. her pretty long fur was much MUCH softer and nicer to touch after the wash.

bonus that it doesnt sink badly now either.
this is the most recent pic, taken today after i fed it some cat food. looking all contented XD

hope someone will adopt it though. it seemed like a nice enough cat.
