happy new year to all, and happy birthday to my eldest bro... on this side of the world, there is still another two hours before new year. however, it seems so much different since they are allowed to set off rockets and stuff here. besides, the weather is good today, no hail/sleet/snow/rain and its -3 since i checked in the morning... maybe the temperature has dropped... but still, its very good condition to set off fireworks!!
i havent been blogging much lately since i've picked up a new hobby, KNITTING! the best way to make a norwegian grandma like you!! XD kidding kidding, i've been wanting to learn knitting since i saw mum knitting during my ice skating days... not too long ago i had asked her to teach me too, but we couldnt find the knitting needles. anyway, his mom Mary has knitted tons of stuff, from beanies...to sweaters.. to socks..and even gloves, scarves and clothing for the 2000+ dolls she has made. She first learnt how to knit at age SIX.
SIX.
and here i am learning how to knit at age... 19. damn i feel smart... XD and by age 8 she knites her own sweater with designs and lil creatures on it. but better late than never! its a nice skill to pick up at least, although the climate in singapore isnt suitable for woolen scarves and such. however, i intend to master the basics of knitting first, and when i'm done with my target projects, i'll ask mom how she makes the shawls... she's REALLY good at making shawls, i just hope she hasnt forgotten how XD
hmmm... what else have i been doing... we went out to Molde, a nearby town and walked around the mall abit.. unlike the malls in singapore, the malls here are very clothing oriented. XD its either clothes or shops similar to that of Isetan. And they have nice shops selling xmas decor. seems like people here tend to decorate their house with xmas stuff alot, since almost every house we drive past in the dark will have xmas decorations... some nice ones i've seen are little reindeer outlines made out of a string of lights, or real live pine trees decorated simply with lights but the simplicity makes it nice. which reminds me... they have deer and swans in norway, which is cool considering i see swans in singapore too. the little deers tend to cross the road, so on the first day of driving to his parents house, we had to swerve to avoid deer. XD
dinner here was good once again... its the same as dinner for xmas, with riskrem!! (rice cream) the table was decorated by alex's bro's gf and his mom.... it was very nicely done with stars and silver candles, and some glittery mesh metal stuff. i'm looking forward to the fireworks at midnight here, and i hope i'll be able to take some really nice shots. HOWEVER, the fireworks are damn loud to set off. maybe i'll hide in the house and take pics from there XD
alrighty, i'll go back to my knitting!
*HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

lotr!!
Before the picture galore occurs, i'd like to remind those who dont read my blog everyday that on the right hand side of the screen after you've scrolled down, there should be a link saying "December Archive" under all the names of my recent posts. There, you'll be able to see what you may have missed as not all the posts are shown currently.
Today, we shall play a game called Guess the Swords! Indian Crazy CoCoPuffs, this game should be VERY easy for you!!
This swords are part of the collection of Alex's brother.
he hangs them in the hallway.
and he has a lot of stuff hanging, but i'm not gonna post all XD
His brother made a FULL suit of armour by himself... spending 30o hours estimated to build it from SCRATCH. The only bits he did not make himself were the rivets. His brother is also a very good digital artist, and can be googled under the name Shockbolt. do check it out, he has GREAT fantasy artwork!
I had to show how detailed his work is with a close up of the glove... he even made the inner wear for knights. the vest made out of numerous metal rings WHICH HE ALSO MADE FROM SCRATCH. the vest alone weighs 15kg, so go figure how many metal rings he had to make and join together. To help with the estimation, he took a week just to make the rings. His armour is built to fit his size... and its realllllyyy cool.
I really liked the design on this, so i had to post a pic XD
This is the sword which he has again made himself for the knight armour, and the gloves.
This pic is for my indian crazies to laugh at... alex said the background looked very fairytale with a lake/ocean and mountains with snow. XD and we got reminded of indian crazie cocopuff and the lovely shot of her in the botanic gardens. XD However, i refused to mimic the same pose twice, and therefore the rare opportunity to catch the shot was lost. WHEW. so to compensate, he takes one when i'm trying to make my way down to the water, trying not to fall. i have not fallen yet, d'ya hear that strawberry man?! I HAVE NOT FALLEN! ... yet. XD
In case no one noticed, i'm out trying to catch snowflake in that pic with no sweater or winter wear on. BWAHAHAHHAHAHA. see? its not THAT cold XD
That pic was taken on the way to Molde for chinese food, a 40 minute drive. This place was a stopover, where the place really looked like a hallmark card , and even had horses and a quaint little xmas shop.
Also, i got to see hail today and light snow... :)

pics again!
i just love taking pics of scenary down here... looks closely at the clouds and you can see pink glowing streaks... the pic is a bit dark perhaps to show it, but i still refuse to edit the pics i put up here :P

This picture i love, with calm peaceful colours in the sky of pink, blue and grey... and mild yellow... and i like the tree in the background, makes it looks like a painting. All the leaves on the tree has fallen off btw, so its just the branches and twigs you see. The pic also shows the river at high tide , hence it looks really beautiful ^^
And lastly, this pic i like a lot cuz of the position and the colours in the background that makes it look very very very nice. i used flash/blitz so that alex wont appear as a dark shadow, and i managed to capture both him and the background very nicely :D the pose fits very well too, although its a spur of the moment "TURN TURN TURN!! ..SMILE! *click*" XD
i think its raining now... or is it snowing? i cant see. i
'll go down to look. TATA!

Merry xmas
just finished xmas eve here... the dinner was good, we had norwegian food this time... boiled potatoes with boiled turnip. its kinda sweetish. we eat those with dried salted lamb that has been boiled for a couple or more hours. its really really good, i enjoyed it... got lots of yummy lamb XD like dried and salted lambchops XD basically you mash up the potatoes with the turnip and eat it with bits of lamb.
my morning was nice too, i was online blogging a bit when his mom went "TINA!!! HELP!!" XD i went down to check and she was kicking his dad's ass , asking me to "taekwondo him" XD and he explained its cuz he told her what to do and she didnt like it XD hhhahaha...before dinner started i was helping out to lay the dishes and lighting candles all over the place. just on the 3rd floor alone i've lit... 9 candles. XD on the second floor there are much more XD.
anyway, after dinner we sat around the living room, beside the xmas tree to start unwrapping presents. his grandparents, parents, aunt and bro were there too... so there was 8 of us. his grandfather was saying the youngest or the oldest should be the one to give out the gifts..which means him or me XD... mary ( alex's mom) ended up doing it har har. so she gives one gift at a time to let the person unwrap it, which is different from what i'm used to ( ripping open presents at the back of the car or alone at home XD) but its so much cosier and fun even if i didnt understand a lot of the conversation XD. his dad loves marzipan, and this year he had 1 small and 2 large marzipan pigs- one of the large ones were from alex and me XD its some internal humour cuz his parents often receive gifts labelled "to mary and robert" but its usually meant for the mom XD. so we tried making him happier this time XD. his dad hugged the marzipan pig when he got it , and tried trading stuff for the other large marzipan pig mary was holding cuz she happened to unwrap it XD
then we had lovely dessert called RISCREAM!!! (ris=rice) its soooooo gooooood when its homemade!! i tried one bought from a store before, and i didnt like it. but this homemade one.... ooooo lala. its basically rice boiled to a thickish congee state, then liquid cream is added.... its left to cool before vanilla sugar, sugar, and essence of some nut is added. then you eat it cold with blackberry or strawberry sauce.... OHHH I LOVEEEE. - and i'll be getting it for breakfast tmr. yay yay YAY.
even though i'm far from home, this place feels like a second home already, with everyone being very welcoming and friendly even though people like his grandparents cant speak a english. and i'm a form of entertainment. its fascinating to hear me say merry xmas in norwegian apparently XD... not that i'm about to reveal i know a lil bit more XD... his parents know i know abit at least... since i got cheeky the first time i met them, saying that i cant speak norwegian..-in norwegian. XD HEHEHE. but they speak dialect, which is a bit different from what ive learnt. anyway, as i was saying, i feel welcomed.. and the effort to make me feel at home here is really sweet too. :) ive gotten lotsa prezzies at least XD. -even in the name of the cat Tobias XD.. but only me and alex get gifts from Tobias. XD...
lets see.... i got a black wool jacket thats long down to the thighs, with 3/4 sleeves from his mom.. lotsa buttons though. then i got a lovely purple amethyst stone i think, not the kind you see in jewellery stores, from his mother... i got the sims 2 for my psp and chocolate from alex XD .. a glassy like necklace with purple designs and gold coloured beads with a heart, and matching bracelet from his grandparents... a hair something set with a straightener and combs and curler from his parents... shoes from his mom again.. XD well... and chocolate from england from the cat. or maybe i missed some gifts out. well... as said, darn sweet of them =)
gonna go watch anime now... hunter x hunter. hope it'll be good!

gothic.
i went with the family to visit the grandfather's grave at a graveyard about 2-300m away from the house... the sun was setting on my left, the moon was high up on my right XD both looked so clear it was cool. i wanted to take a pic of the whole sky lying down. but it seemed SO appropriate to bring my cam to the graveyard.
i kinda wish i had brought it though XD the scenary was lovely, even with the headstones ( goth points +10) and the clouds glowed. the graveyard isnt as creepy as local ones for some reason... and since its winter it even had those classic dead trees with overhanging claw like branches XD it was cool... and further down the graveyard is a river, leading to the ocean. it was beautiful
alrighty, breakfast time!

random
i had norwegian cheese for breakfast today... it was interesting. and caviar here comes in tubes XD.
oh christmas tree oh christmas tree...
anyway, i've still yet to see snow... but it might snow in jan most likely. gonna go take a walk around and take pics of scenary. the way people live here is very different. Houses arent buildt side by side.. instead, its all spaced out and people live in small communities in the countryside. so its really nice and quiet, although the inconvenience is that to get to the store, its a half an hour WALK. thats why we wont walk. XD
lastly, his dad has got an uber cool 40 year old ford mustang!!! i'll get pics of it soon!!!

Lady
Today we reached Hustad, a 4 hour travel or so to his parents by boat, ferry and car... its a very nice place here, i'll take pics soon. Very nice xmas decorations my indian crazies would be jealous of! there is lights over the archways of the doors, two xmas trees - one on the second floor and one more on the 3rd floor.... there's candles, lights , santa clauses and angels everywhere! even the CURTAINS are in xmas theme!!
i got greeted with big hugs and handshakes... and we had fried rice and spring rolls for dinner. Got to test out their solarium ( COOL AINT IT ) for a little while... there's a new cat in the house by the name of Lady, she's very femine and very friendly compared to the other two cats. she looks very similar to Tobias, a black and white cat which has much longer fur and is slightly bigger in size... the other cat is just called FatCat, which hides at the sight of alex to i have yet to see it. anyway, Lady went into the room i'm sleeping in to rest on the bed... XD and she loves getting patted and scratched alot... afterwards she climbed onto my chest while i was resting in bed to get scratched... she purrs alot. I KIDNAP HER TO SINGAPORE. XD *AHEM* well, no worries cuz the cats here are VERY clean, much longer fur so they are VERY fluffy and uber cute!
To cut the blablabla, i bring headliner news.
EVIL SATANIST ATTEMPTS TO KILL CAT.
purple skies
Welcome to THE coffee place, Choco boco. this is the view from outide... the reflection in the glass is the xmas decorations outside. This place sells really nice coffee... like mocha with irish cream.. and the fruit frappe... ooooohhh that drink..................................
Lo behold ze lovely fruit frappe, and the coffee that starred in the Alex & Alex productions, which my indian crazies have watched before... ohhh damnnn it was goooooood. X)
Aaaaannndd this is the half filippino guy, a friendly crapper who has always taken our orders and served our drinks so far. He was very willing to pose for this pic XD NO, my indian crazies, this one is not kidnappable to be your maid.

To get to Chocoboco, we have to cross this bridge over the river...its not as long as it looks! finally i got a pic cuz it wasnt so cold again yesterday. its been about 4 degrees lately, so i'm still able to avoid wrapping myself up like a ninja. XD This pic was taken before 4pm i think... so you can see how early it gets dark in winter, which suits me cuz i'm not a sunlight person! XD But its darker due to the rains recently, hence the heavy clouds. As you can see, the skies are actually purple!

I DID NOT EDIT A SINGLE PIC I'VE LOADED UP
really nice isnt it?!
More purple sky, this was taken a little bit earlier than the pic above... once again, unedited and lovely. Alex said he has yet to see purple skies before this, only pink and orangeish.

quick quick
just making a quick post before i leave the house. gonna go shop around abit, and enjoy the warm 4 degree weather again. Last night it went up to 7 degrees... and i was woken up by raindrops on the window. Doesnt seem as windy as yesterday, so it should be much more pleasant.
the strawberry icecream was GOOOOOOD. played some wii after ( woooo we had a nintendo wii lent to us for my stay ). wii was fun, there's the game called wii sport which includes bowling, baseball, tennis, boxing and even golf. XD its fun, cuz you have to do the action.
gonna be making nachos tonight... its REALLLYYYY cool the way they make it here. gonna try duplicate it... and ooooo cant wait XD i realise i talk alot about food here but its really that nice XD. even the bread.
the world will be a better place with knakkerbrod. *bright light shines* i love. its almost like biscuits but its high in fibre and different... just thought indian crazie cocopuffs might love it XD
ok, i'll upoad pics again soon i guess. been lazy to whip out the cam to snap pics XD perhaps i should take some of the mall and xmas decorations. bought some siu mai-like thingy too! gonna steam em up tonight!
take care all, and hug my mummy for me.

Congee
It was warm today, 4 degrees... but it became a bit cold cuz of the wind. i was able to walk without lookin like a ninja XD however, it rained today... too warm for snow :( the ice became really slippery after though, but i have yet to fall ( famous last words XD)
Been drinking lots of coke though, gonna end up with a coke belly (har har har). bought ice cream too! strawberry and vanilla icecream. damn i'm soooo living a 'healthy' life. So we bought juice today, orange juice, which was very refreshing actually. made me feel more energised and awake. but i'm still eating way much more than usual though. especially rice. -.-
will be leaving to his parent's house soon, gotta have the internet guy come down to fix up the stuff before we can leave... we also managed to set up the new washing machine and get the pile of laundry in the wash. also cleaned up the place, mopped a bit etc... wash dishes and stuff.
anyway, the ice cream is calling out to me.. tata! XD
lovbiff ( NOT love beef!!)
This is yesterday's dinner... lovbiff ( with the slash on the 'o' again) and potato balls gone wrong XD it was supposed to be balls but it broke. We added Bernaise sauce on it and daaaammmnnn it gooooood. YUM
This is the food at Mien Trung... the
Sphaggetti with minced meat! :D simple-ish meal, but very tasty~

a few pics.
this is a pic i took, thats a duck in the water btw. lovely isnt it? :D
This is the cathedral, with lots of statues on the wall as you can see... of people. har har.. i didnt go INSIDe the cathedral yet. But they got lotsa nice stuff Ash would love (CROWNS!)
anyway, lazy to blog more... i'll add more pics sometime, the pic of the chocolate cake we baked! it even has topping hehe :D
parole
=this pic was taken by alex, the cathedral being the tallest building in the pic.... and if you look closely you can even see a seagull flying. cool huh? :D
its a lovely BELOW ZERO temperature! YAY!!
lets see.... what happened.. -.-after getting on the plane, started talking to the guy next to me. some 40++ year old ukranian ( no, indian crazie 1. not the icky guy on imvu). on my other side was from england.. about 60. both were nice, but i talked more to the ukranian guy. he's a coach for circus acrobats. the stuff they do from heights, in the air etc... really cool, he was one himself. he talked alot, so it was entertaining...
the english guy was a nice too, a big plump man with no hair and a ear piercing, in black. lets call him granpa! one good advantage of grandpa, after getting out of the loo, he makes it really easy to find my seat. (bald head shiny! HAHAHA XD) he was really nice too actually, but very quiet.. i tried to sleep, so i put my glasses on the foldable table...tossed and turn a lot, and it almost fell. grandpa took my specs and put it on his table XD. then later when he almost made it fall , he put it on his shirt instead XD..... really nice. so i was well cared for on the flight, grandpa helped clear rubbish on my table too! XD but sad part was i couldnt sleep, so i got really really restless.
Amsterdam was alright, but the security was tight i guess. back in singapore i had to walk through the metal detector, and it beeped cuz of my belt. i didnt feel like being molested again so i removed my belt this time.......but still...
beep beep.
i had to take off my friggin shoes. -.- XD
it was boring in amsterdam airport, i didnt go to the 12 euro shower cuz i didnt feel like it... just sat on a recliner to watch Ranma 1/2 for awhile, and then i went to walk around... i didnt dare to fall asleep XD bought a drink, changed some cash, and sat around reading... checked in an hour + early...
as i walked to the gate i saw this black guy, and he said hi... so we started talking, just nice he was taking the same plane XD he's studying in norway for his doctorate, and is a lecturer in eutopia ( SO COOL). Being typical singaporean geog student, i know statistics of Africa and stuff XD so he was an intellectually entertaining company.
We had to wait for a bus to take us to the small plane... sit in twos and threes. i ended up sitting by the window next to the wing AGAIN, and a plump 60 year old englishman. He was nice company too, talked about stuff, he works in norway although his family is in england. mentioned how expensive stuff in norway is , and the weather. However, the food here is worth the cash X)
once, i said this in australia.. "we come to a foreign country to eat ASIAN food?!" XD well, i take that back, i've been eating VERY good chinese food. its.... perfect. it lovely. good. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm kinda good. its at this place called Mien Trung, supposedly vietnamese. People there are quiet friendly. XD the guy at Mien Trung shook my hand, his wife said i was "sot" ( with a slash on the 'o') and i'm not telling what that means . -_-
the half filipinno guy at the coffee shop shook my hand in welcome too. but these people are familiar with alex XD and we got a free cup of coffee each from that guy too.
also ate at a japanese restaurant... RAW FISH. raw tuna isnt too bad... but i dont like the butterfish or salmon much XD still the oddball in the family for that har har XD
the temperature's been -8 when i first came...but hovered between -2 and 2 till now... i've yet to seen snow falling, but its been nice~ i'm growing fat, having fun, and getting used to the cold... took some nice pics, i'll upload them in a bit.
so much to do online now that i got net~!

au revoir
wow, i've got one really good secretary~! by the name of Indian Crazie 2... she's got my flight details and stuff all printed out, with the arrival and departure times all converted to singapore and amsterdam/norwegian time... and she's even got the details of where i can access wireless internet, places to eat and such in the amsterdam airport! lets have a round of applause for my wonderful secretary, Indian Crazie 2~~!!!
*ten seconds of applause*
i'm really hoping no one stuffs me with more sweaters or clothes to keep warm at the airport, cuz my luggage is bursting! my mom offered to go buy a new luggage bag, but i find that an unneccessary waste of cash.. in 3 hours, i'll be on the plane... hopefully makin friends who fly frequently , who can be my guide XD
heard that a few relatives are gonna be seeing me off.. hmm... i kinda pictured it be a quiet lil good bye, but now i have my serious doubts.. i hope my indian crazies dont cry O_O nice quiet departure, its not like i'm not coming back! rest assured, over-imaginative people, i have every intention of getting my butt back to singapore on the stated date.
met up with my dad for lunch today, he's also like mom, very cool with it... well, he's met the guy at least. i'm really thankful i have parents who believe i can take care of myself, although i know they worry (who wont?) ... its a very motivating thing at this point i can say ^^ he passed me some cash too. =.= well, to keep people assured, i've called UOB and enquired about using my atm card there, and yes i can as long as it has the VISA logo.. which is very common since Norway is a developed country and Amsterdam's airport is one of the largest.
i dont know if mom can see me off for this flight, she's got lives to save... but i can tell she really wants to, she was asking if i'd be okay if she didnt turn up, dont be too sad etc etc.. but i told HER not to worry instead XD i'd be fine. so those who read this, in case my mommy dont see me off, comfort her yeah, muchas gracias. And my other brother cant meet me cuz he's too busy shooting in some forest till midnight... oh well.
hmm i'm abit worried for her actually... SOMEBODY better take good care of her! *STARE* -somebody-. or somebody aint gonna get norwegian chocolate that he wants. ( hint hint, you know who you are XD)
i'll be reaching there at about 7:20pm singapore time, which is 12:20pm norwegian time... ( now you guys can convert the timings) and if all goes good, i'd probably be able to call home before mom sleeps, but i'd call anyway. XD so dont be surprised if i dont do a daily entry, since i might wanna just ZZZZZ. give me a day's grace to contact all of you okay?
alrighty, take care all, lots of love!

baa baa
mom bought me a really really nice jacket afterall! but i think i'll look like an angel or an innocent lil sheep in it... ( again she raised my hopes... its not black . T_T ) Its really nice, very soft sheep something... not the icky pokey wool which i dislike a lot! The material is the same as the insides of my new leather gloves, also some sheep material, just that my gloves are black.
apparently i'll be getting stuffed with more sweaters to keep warm when i reach norway, so no worries on me freezing to death.. and the ride from the airport to my place of stay is just 10-20 minutes... if i can survive in the damned Snow City in singapore at -5 degrees, i think i can survive 20 minutes of above 0 degrees. And in Snow wretched City, i had COTTON gloves. COTTON.
WHO PLAYS WITH SNOW IN COTTON GLOVES?!
it gets wet, and my fingers get cold.. so the two occasions i was there, i spent half the time sitting by myself in an igloo they had, trying to keep my poor little fingers warm. -.-
right now i'm just doing the internet checkin thing, and re-reading the baggage rules and stuff...

been asking around people who travel frequently what can or cannot be brought on board the plane... suddenly i wonder if my bag is less than 20kg... but i should think so. how much can i stuff in it anyway? i'm being exceptionally careful with hand luggage, i'd hate to get it checked and stuff.. apparently if i bring a laptop, i have to declare and show them its a laptop and not a bomb. interesting~
hmm, checkin in online is so much better! i get to pick my seat, and i have a seat near the toilet and the exit... with a space between the other person in the row ^^ nice~ and for the other short flight, i have it right next to the exit~ YAY!
PEACE.
apparently i'll be getting stuffed with more sweaters to keep warm when i reach norway, so no worries on me freezing to death.. and the ride from the airport to my place of stay is just 10-20 minutes... if i can survive in the damned Snow City in singapore at -5 degrees, i think i can survive 20 minutes of above 0 degrees. troublesome.
mom's back from japan... i took a sneak peek into her luggage and ... .... i think she bought me a MAROON sweater.... -m-a-r-o-o-n. ah well, it could have been beige or PINK.. but she suggested to me BLACK!!! waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
i dialed 1626 yesterday, for the autoroma, and apparently i need a guarantor who is above age 21.. sheeeeesh. good thing i've got a hi-card. less trouble, and perhaps less cost too! i'll just go top it up later... i guess turning on the auto-roam for my line will be too troublesome and expensive anyway.
i've packed most of my luggage, just left out a few clothes that are being dried at the moment and all my socks. i've even packed in my baby blue nike winter hat, which i bought in australia cuz it was really cheap on sale, 50% off if i remember right. and it was really really comfy, hence why i live with the colour of baby blue. initially i thought that 'heyyy i have more space in my bag then i thought' ... then i realised i havent packed in toiletries and sweaters... hoooooboy. XD
okay, gonna test putting up pictures here... i went to the botanic gardens recently, and took many really nice pictures... even managed to get a squirrel and bees on a flower, and even pages bathing... hehe :D we managed to find two swans to feed as well, and they eat right off your hand. despite the rain that persisted for 10 hours, we had fun although my indian crazies got drenched and i was the only one with a small black umbrella XD i'll add more pics
