just finished xmas eve here... the dinner was good, we had norwegian food this time... boiled potatoes with boiled turnip. its kinda sweetish. we eat those with dried salted lamb that has been boiled for a couple or more hours. its really really good, i enjoyed it... got lots of yummy lamb XD like dried and salted lambchops XD basically you mash up the potatoes with the turnip and eat it with bits of lamb.
my morning was nice too, i was online blogging a bit when his mom went "TINA!!! HELP!!" XD i went down to check and she was kicking his dad's ass , asking me to "taekwondo him" XD and he explained its cuz he told her what to do and she didnt like it XD hhhahaha...before dinner started i was helping out to lay the dishes and lighting candles all over the place. just on the 3rd floor alone i've lit... 9 candles. XD on the second floor there are much more XD.
anyway, after dinner we sat around the living room, beside the xmas tree to start unwrapping presents. his grandparents, parents, aunt and bro were there too... so there was 8 of us. his grandfather was saying the youngest or the oldest should be the one to give out the gifts..which means him or me XD... mary ( alex's mom) ended up doing it har har. so she gives one gift at a time to let the person unwrap it, which is different from what i'm used to ( ripping open presents at the back of the car or alone at home XD) but its so much cosier and fun even if i didnt understand a lot of the conversation XD. his dad loves marzipan, and this year he had 1 small and 2 large marzipan pigs- one of the large ones were from alex and me XD its some internal humour cuz his parents often receive gifts labelled "to mary and robert" but its usually meant for the mom XD. so we tried making him happier this time XD. his dad hugged the marzipan pig when he got it , and tried trading stuff for the other large marzipan pig mary was holding cuz she happened to unwrap it XD
then we had lovely dessert called RISCREAM!!! (ris=rice) its soooooo gooooood when its homemade!! i tried one bought from a store before, and i didnt like it. but this homemade one.... ooooo lala. its basically rice boiled to a thickish congee state, then liquid cream is added.... its left to cool before vanilla sugar, sugar, and essence of some nut is added. then you eat it cold with blackberry or strawberry sauce.... OHHH I LOVEEEE. - and i'll be getting it for breakfast tmr. yay yay YAY.
even though i'm far from home, this place feels like a second home already, with everyone being very welcoming and friendly even though people like his grandparents cant speak a english. and i'm a form of entertainment. its fascinating to hear me say merry xmas in norwegian apparently XD... not that i'm about to reveal i know a lil bit more XD... his parents know i know abit at least... since i got cheeky the first time i met them, saying that i cant speak norwegian..-in norwegian. XD HEHEHE. but they speak dialect, which is a bit different from what ive learnt. anyway, as i was saying, i feel welcomed.. and the effort to make me feel at home here is really sweet too. :) ive gotten lotsa prezzies at least XD. -even in the name of the cat Tobias XD.. but only me and alex get gifts from Tobias. XD...
lets see.... i got a black wool jacket thats long down to the thighs, with 3/4 sleeves from his mom.. lotsa buttons though. then i got a lovely purple amethyst stone i think, not the kind you see in jewellery stores, from his mother... i got the sims 2 for my psp and chocolate from alex XD .. a glassy like necklace with purple designs and gold coloured beads with a heart, and matching bracelet from his grandparents... a hair something set with a straightener and combs and curler from his parents... shoes from his mom again.. XD well... and chocolate from england from the cat. or maybe i missed some gifts out. well... as said, darn sweet of them =)
gonna go watch anime now... hunter x hunter. hope it'll be good!
